iPhone Mindfulness Quote

Dave Pell on the I-Doser, and information overload:

Here’s my message to kids: If you think narrowing things down to one incoming signal gets you high, wait until you try zero. The only thing better than being totally out of your mind is being totally in it.

– from Confession #73: Dude, I’m Totally Wasted on the Internet

Interestingly, I tried the I-Doser the other day. I’ve not given it enough of a go to know whether there’s really anything to it, but having found pzizz very helpful for sleep, I’m always happy to play with a new toy that claims to do crazy things to your brain with audio (well, with the possible exception of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.) I must try it again a few times and see whether it seems to do anything or not.

If nothing else, it might hold the rest of the world at bay for a while. Although White Noise for iPhone is also pretty good for that, and makes no claims about binaural stimulation. Sometimes you just want to hear a rainstorm, or some waves, rather than the upstairs neighbours’ overloud Spanish dance music. (Yeah, really.)
